Chainlink and Wanchain Meetup

Join Chainlink and Wanchain as we demo an integration of a chainlinked smart contract that utilizes Wanchain's cross-chain capability. In this demo, we will show how a smart contract on Ethereum can read state information on Wanchain by utilizing the Chainlink network. For example, by validating the balance of an account on Wanchain, we can determine if a payment has been made, taking advantage of deterministic smart contracts. We will have food and non-alcoholic drinks available both before and after the presentations. We are also planning on Live Streaming the event so that both communities can view it.

Chainlink

Smart contracts are tracking to be the leading form of digital agreements for key global industries. The vast majority of useful smart contracts extend beyond the blockchain to connect with external sources, including data feeds, web APIs, and traditional bank payments.

However, to maintain a connected smart contract’s overall reliability, the inputs and outputs to the contract also need to be secure. In this talk, we’ll demonstrate how to Chainlink a smart contract and deliver data cross-chain.

Wanchain

Wanchain will present on why connections between blockchain networks are important, how industry-wide standards for blockchain interoperability could materialize and use cases for a multi-blockchain financial hub.

Thomas is a Developer Evangelist and Integration Engineer at Chainlink. He helps developers around the world unlock the potential of smart contracts using the Chainlink network.

Dan Reecer, Global Marketing Director for Wanchain

Dan is from Indiana and attended Indiana University for his Masters and Bachelors in Information Systems and International Business. He spent four years working in pharmaceuticals at Eli Lilly & Company in drug pricing, digital marketing, and US/Global brand marketing. His foray into crypto began with researching Bitcoin in 2013 during grad school, and he began working for Wanchain in April 2018. Dan enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and summer days at the lake in Indiana.
