Juventus bids farewell and thank you to Joao Cancelo for the season experienced together. The player and the club have gone its separate ways, with the Portuguese set to turn out for Premier League outfit, Manchester City, next season.
It was an intense and impressive season experienced by the Portuguese. At Juventus, he spent a total of 2599 minutes on the field throughout the 2018/19 campaign, making 34 appearances across all competitions. He may have scored just one goal, but Joao's prevalance is measured by other factors.
He’s an example of incisiveness on the wing. Cancelo played more crosses in all competitions (29) out of all the Bianconeri players. He was also the defender to have provided the most assists (3), and won more dribbles (61) in Serie A.
His technique was one of the key factors that saw Joao win over the Juventino fan base: beating his man in dribbling, with 72 successful dribbles in all competitions, providing the highest figures in this category from the black and white teamsheet.
The quality he put onto the field game-after-game did not go unnoticed, and it is because of this, that we thank Cancelo for the #W8NDERFUL adventure enjoyed together and wish him the very best in his career.
